(Sentence 1)Fear is something we all have to deal with on a daily basis.(Sentence 2)We get scared form many things; a friend sneaking up on us or a spider crawling up your arm.(Sentence 3)But we all have to face something scarier at one point in our lives.(Sentence 4)When we are truly afraid for our lives, we suddenly forget all the petty fears we have and put things into perspective.
(TS)We are all afraid of something whether it's something some might see silly, or very serious.(SD)I am afraid of many things, one of which are spiders.(CM)Some people might say that there is no reason to fear spiders because they cannot do you any real harm, but I am still afraid all the same.(CM)Even I know that it's silly to be so terrified of something so small, but just like so many other people, I shriek with terror every time I see one.(SD)I also have a fear that is much more serious than spiders.(CM)Every day I am faced with the fear that I might get sick again.(CM)I have problems with my digestive tract that are always coming and going. They sometimes don't show up for months at a time, but when they do, it can get very painful.(SD)The only thing that frightens me more that spiders and belly pain is the ever present feeling of protection over my family.(CM)I am always faced with the fear that something might happen to the ones I care about.(CM)This is not something I can control nor want to because it gives me just a small amount of comfort to know that I will always be ready to help the ones I love.(CS)Fear is an ever present emotion, but without it we would be reckless and thoughtless.
(TS)I have had many scary experiences throughout my life, but one that really sticks out was when I had to spend a little over a month in the hospital.(SD)I was six when I first got sick and the doctors didn't know what was wrong with me.(CM)I was truly terrified when they started saying words like "cancer" and "exploratory surgery".(CM)I remember feeling so helpless because all I could do was lie in my bed and sleep because the pain medications prevented anything else.(SD)I skipped from hospital to hospital trying to figure out why I was so sick; I remember sitting in a taxi, hunched over in pain while we rushed to the hospital.(CM)The doctors had no answers as to why I was in so much pain, and they weren't sure which directions they should head in.(CM)They performed procedures that involved a camera to see what was happening to the organs. These happened on a regular basis for several weeks.(SD)I was lucky though, they came up with an answer that seemed to fit.(CM)It turned out that I had experienced an acute pancreatitus, a very painful inflammation of the pancreas.(It was good that the doctors had figured this out when they did because I was scheduled for exploratory surgery in a few days and it would have been completely unnecessary.(CS)I was in the hospital for just over a month, and it was the most terrifying month of my life. Not knowing whether of not you'll wake up tomorrow is truly horrifying.

ReplyDeleteThis is a very good essay I especially was very interested in your second paragraph, it had very detailed examples. It looks like you typed that with care. Make sure not to use too many extra sentences. Overall I was very impressed with this essay. Good work!
This could be your BEST essay, Jade. Go for it! Be very careful about careless mistakes, though. I see quite a few.
