An Essay on the Book To Kill a Mocking Bird by Harper Ann Lee
(Sentence 1)Education is the core for our civilization.(Sentence 2)Without it, we would be in a world blackened by ignorance.(Sentence 3)Knowing this, some people still choose to ignore all the wonderful resources we have for education and continue down a path that will only lead to self destruction.(Sentence 4)Atticus wants Scout to continue going to school because he knows that many more doors will be open for her with a good education.
(TS)Atticus believes that education is essential to anyone who can obtain it.(SD)Atticus never had the opportunity to be taught in a school as a child, so he wants his children to have this privilege.(CM)He will make Scout go to school because he knows that if she gets a good education, she can do a lot better than he does.(CM)He also explains the importance of school to Scout, an intelligent child with a natural ability to back up her arguments with true facts, saying that she needs to learn, and some things are better taught in a class room.(SD)Scout argues with her father about not having to go to school and incorporates the Ewells in her argument.(CM)Atticus patiently explains "They can go to school anytime they want to, when they show the faintest symptom of wanting an education,"(Lee, 40).(CM)When Scout asks why the law can be changed just for the Ewells, Atticus explains that people in different situations sometimes get to live with a different set of rules that the rest of the people do.(SD)When Atticus brings up Scout and her reading, Scout explains what her teacher had told her about the subject.(CM)Although he respects her teachers rules, Atticus want the best for his children, and tells Scout to keep on reading.(CM)The only way Scout can do this is by not telling her teacher, and Atticus explains what a compromise is, saying that as long as she continues to go to school, she can read.(CS)Atticus's dedication to his children's education is amazing and he will not be swayed on certain aspects of this subject.
(TS)Where would we be with out the ability to learn?(SD)Education is an ever present process.(CM)We can never escape it, but we can use it to our advantage.(CM)When presented with the opportunity to learn, one should always grasp it, for it is one of the most important things we can do for ourselves.(SD)When we are faced with opportunities that others do not have, there is no reason why we should put out backs to them.(CM)We can learn from the world, whether it's in a classroom or on the streets, but the way we use that knowledge will make us all different people.(CM)Ignorance will only bring failure to those who embrace it, sending them spiraling down to a dark place.(SD)If we do not take what help we can, we will miss out on opportunities that could have been so easy to obtain.(CM)The only person who could stop us from achieve our personal best is ourselves by ignoring the help we are offered and embracing self destructive habits.(CM)These habits are unhelpful and useless and will harm no one but yourself.(TS)But by seizing the appropriate and necessary steps in your life, you with no doubt will shine.
(Sentence 1)We need education to survive.(Sentence 2)Without it, we cannot function properly as a civilization.(Sentence 3)By educating our people and making new advances in technology we can understand the world and how it works.(Sentence 4)The outcome of doing this will be great, we will be able to receive important information faster and share it with others around the world.

  1. Jade, I'm impressed with the writing in this paragraph. It's some of your best work yet. It shows how much talent you really have.

    In the last CM, "id" should be "is".
